A Dozen Auctions in One Week!

Steffes just wrapped a week most auction companies wouldn’t even attempt.

After all, few could handle 12 auctions in a single week, selling land, farm equipment, hay, and more.

“When you step back and look at the big picture, it’s remarkable. But really, there’s no magic to it. We’re able to handle periods like this because we have a capable staff of people with expertise in areas ranging from hay quality to machinery to land to estate planning,” said Scott Steffes, president of the company.

Just how big a week was it? During the week of March 11-17, we sold 20 combines, 74 tractors, 946 acres and 79 loads of hay. Events included our AgIron West Fargo auction, which attracted 780 attendees onsite on a frigid day, with more than 1,010 others viewing the auction and buying online. The next day, we were in Iowa for another AgIron Event with another excellent response.

Our AgIron Event is a good example of why we have the trust and confidence of sellers and buyers alike. We understand the machinery being sold, as well as the current market conditions, and that enables us to create an efficient market where people can make bidding decisions with confidence.

“Everything is transparent. When we’re selling hay, we have an independent lab testing it for quality, so buyers know exactly what they’re getting. We provide similar levels of service for machinery and land, whether we’re selling it live or in a timed online auction. So the people buying one month will often be back as sellers later on because the format works for everybody,” said Steffes.

The week's auctions included retirement events, land auctions, AgIron events, hay, and even office equipment. During the same week, SteffesGroup.com attracted 35,000 visitors.

“I guess most folks would be hoping for a breather after a week like this one, but looking at the calendar, it’s clear we’re going to be working hard all Spring. But that’s just the way we like it,” he said.
