Never Miss an Auction This Spring – Bid from the Tractor!

April 2021

As many of our clients and customers are preparing for Spring planting, we want to ensure you never miss out on an opportunity to bid on a Steffes Group Auction. Whether you are in the tractor, sprayer, on the road, or in the shop this spring, we offer online bidding on all our auctions to give all potential buyers a fair opportunity to bid on any device, anywhere, at any time.

Our buyers trust our photos and descriptions of equipment we sell to ensure they are bidding on a great item. By working to have the most accurate and up to date information shown in our photos and descriptions, it makes bidding from the tractor easy and stress free. Our sales representatives are also available to answer any questions regarding upcoming auctions or individual pieces equipment.

Timed online auctions are usually slower paced, typically selling three lots every two minutes, which can make it easier to monitor as you’re doing field work this Spring. You can also opt-in to receive text message or email notifications when an auction you registered for is closing soon, and when an item in your “Watched Lots” is ending soon.

As a reminder on how to easily bid on any auction, take a look at our step-by-step guides below on how to bid on a timed online auction or a live-onsite auction, all on our website as well as our mobile app.

Bidding on a Timed Online Auction

1. Create an account.

2. Find an auction.

  • Find an auction you want to bid on (on any lot) and click the red “Request to Bid” button.
  • This will walk you through the terms and conditions of the auction. Each auction may have its own unique terms, so please read carefully.
  • Once you’ve read the terms, click on the yellow “Accept Terms” button and you will be directed back to the auction’s home page.

3. Place a bid.

  • Use the green “Place a Bid!” button to bid on an item.
  • Place a maximum bid (optional). One of the best features of our online bidding platform is the ability to place a maximum bid, which can improve your chances of winning your item. By placing your maximum bid, if another user also places a bid the system will bid on your behalf incrementally up to your maximum bid amount. If your maximum is outbid, you will receive a notification that gives you the option of raising your bid.
  • What happens in extension bidding? If a bid is placed on a lot within a few minutes of the lot closing, that lot will go into extended bidding. When this happens, the lot’s closing time is extended four more minutes (time may vary by auction). This will continue until bidding ceases.
