2,117 Contiguous Farmland Acres Offered in Faulk County, SD

Farmers and investors will have one of their best opportunities to buy a large amount of quality farmland on Wednesday, March 7, when the Steffes Group conducts the auction of 2,117 contiguous acres.

“This is a once-in-a-generation event for most farming communities east of the Missouri River. You very rarely see so much contiguous farmland coming to public auction like this,” said Max Steffes, representative for the auction. “It took the Meier family more than 75 years to acquire the land that makes up this farm, and now someone can buy the entire operation in one day.”

The 2,117 acres in Faulk County – including 1,972 acres of cropland -- will be offered in nine tracts ranging in size from 40 acres to 798 acres. The soils are predominantly Max-Amegard and Williams-Bowbell loam, with soil productivity ratings in the 80s. Almost all of the tracts are accessible from well-maintained section line roads.

“Besides offering great cropland, this farm also has nice recreational aspects, with the Snake Creek running through much of the land, attracting healthy deer and pheasant populations. This will be of interest, not only to operators, but also to farmland investors, and it is ideal for 1031 exchanges,” said Steffes.

In addition to the land, the tracts include approximately 270,000 bushels grain storage, a shop, a granary building, a machine shed, and a three-bedroom house with attached garage.

A detailed Buyer’s Prospectus is available, with complete terms and conditions. Please contact Max Steffes with Steffes Group, at 701.237.9173.

The live auction will begin on Wednesday, March 7 at 11 AM CST at the Dakota Event Center, 720 Lamont Street, Aberdeen, South Dakota. The auction will be webcast, with online bidding available by prior arrangement.
