Local Auctioneers Place at Iowa Auctioneers Convention Bid Calling Contest
Ankeny, Iowa-
The 2015 Annual Iowa Auctioneers Association Convention was held this past weekend with over 120 auctioneers on hand in Ankeny Iowa. Among these men and women were local auctioneers Terry Hoenig and Chris Richard both representing the Steffes Group Auction and Realty of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Along with hosting many great speakers and workshops for continuing education in the auction business, the IAA convention held their annual bid calling and ring-man contests. Hoenig placed 3rd in the rookie bid calling division while Richard took home top honors in the Ring-man competition. The top 20 bid calling competitors in the expert division were determined and will move on to compete at the Iowa State Fair on August 18, 2015 where the Iowa State Champion will be crowned.
